Sometime after the death of his first wife Lola, George married again, and his second wife was named 'Florence.' According to the 1920 Federal VA. Census Florence is listed as being 19 years old, Mary was 10, and there are two new children also numerated: Milton Popkins age 10, and Alice Popkins age 0. It appears that Milton was not the child of Florence because she would have been only 9 years old at the time of his birth. So perhaps Alice is also not the child of Florence, but possibly of Lola Popkins; George M, the second child of George W. and Lola is not listed in that same census. Also listed is a Ms. Susan Popkins age 60, who is assumed to be the mother of George W.--and a Brice Littleton age 11, who's relationship with this family is unknown.
NOTE: On their small rectangular concrete gravestone, George's DOB is shown as 1881, and DOD 1964; Lola has no DOB or DOD listed on that stone. There is also a "temporary" funeral home tin-marker for George W. Popkins, with the same two dates of 1881 and 1964.
