Alma L. Boll was born on January 20,1908 in Hull, Iowa. Her parents were Henry and Marie(Moessner)Gust. She was baptized in Hull, Iowa and confirmed in Pipestone, Minnesota. She attended school in Flandreau, South Dakota, and then moved with her parents to Verdi, Minnesota She attended school in Flandreau, South Dakota, and then she moved with her parents to Verdi, Minnesota in 1919. She graduated from Verdi High School in 1925.
On February 25,1931, she married Fred Boll in Lake Benton, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple farmed in Drammen township in Lincoln County for two years. They moved to the farm in Verdi in 1933 where she had lived since. She was a clerk for nine years and then postmaster for nine years at the U.S. Post Office in Verdi, retiring in 1976.
Alma was a member of Grace Lutheran church in Lake Benton, the ladies of the Church, the Leah circle, the Happy Day Club, the Farmerette Community Extension Club, and the Verdi Senior Citizens.
On February 23, 1988 Alma Lena Boll died at the Hendricks Hospital in Hendricks, Minnesota, at the age of 80 years,1 month and 3 days.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, three sons; Donald of Verdi, Minnesota, Marvin of Ward, South Dakota, and Robert of Verdi, Minnesota, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, and two brothers, and one sister.
