Wayne Carl Cooper, 84, of Idaho Falls, died at his home of natural causes. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. He was born in Iona, Idaho to James Aurelious and Amanda Olsen Cooper. He grew up in Iona and graduated from Ucon High School. He served as a PFC in the army in Germany during World War II.

On April 17, 1941, he married Mary Arlene Burtenshaw in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked as a mechanic, an auto mechanics teacher at Bonneville High School, and a farmer in Idaho Falls. His hobbies include fishing, snowmobiling, farming, and horse riding.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions which include Scoutmaster, Counselor in the Bishopric, member of the High Council, Stake and Ward Finance Clerk and a teacher in various auxiliaries.

Survivors included his wife, Arlene Cooper, Idaho Falls,
three sons, W. Farris Cooper of Salt Lake City, Utah and Thayne C. (Yvonne) Cooper of West Valley City, Utah, and Val Gene (Patt) Cooper of Idaho Falls; and three daughters, Carol R. (Pharies) Hite of Topeka, Kansas; Tamra (Mike) Phippen and Mary Jo (Marty) Sattison; and one sister, Norma Ball, all of Idaho Falls.
26 Grandchildren and 49 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Funeral Services held December 28, 2004, at Ammon 14th Ward, 2055 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Leslie Grigg officiating.
