A poem he wrote that was in his memorial program:

I DID by Rodney Beaty

I did suffer,
I did enjoy,
I did comfort,
I did annoy.
I did so many thinks,
In my lonely Past,
But the memories of them,
Shan't and can't last.
I did foolish things,
Oh and they were many,
I did smart things,
But their good I know not
any.
I did make mistakes,
And faltered from their results.
I did things on my own,
For no one did I consult.
Maybe if I weren't so stubborn,
and I listened now and then,
Maybe I would succeed,
And live in peace again.
But my agony yet lingers,
Because I won't learn.
I will remain thus,
But for better I will yearn.
