Funeral services for Mrs. Anna E. Buckner, 93, of 303 South Main street, Gilman, were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in The United Methodist church, with Rev. James Poe officiating. Burial was in Gilman cemetery.

Pallbearers were Albert Medendorp, Francis Albee, George Elliott, Glenn Baxter, Paul Danforth and Ivan Condit. Mrs. Sharon Arends was organist.

Mrs. Buckner died last Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. in Prairieview Lutheran Home, Danforth, where she had resided for the past three years. She was born Jan. 26, 1890, in Monticello, Ind., the daughter of Charles J. and Jennie Perkins Douglas. She graduated from Gilman High school, and taught in rural schools prior to her marriage.

She was married in 1913 in Gilman to Dr. Roy A. Buckner. He died Jan 16, 1952.

Mrs. Buckner was a member of the United Methodist church, Women's Society for Christian Service, Gilman chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Gilman American Legion Auxiliary. She served on the Douglas Township Library board for many years.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Ryland A. Buckner of Gilman; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger; four sisters, Hazel Stedman, Florence Siegfried, Annette Leatherman and Edith Wilson; and two brothers, Fred and Cyril Douglas.
