His parents settled about 1790/91 on the west green of what became Norwich, NY. Probably the same Thomas Brooks who, prior to 12 Oct. 1819, joined the Chenango County Medical Society. Smith ( Hist. Chenango & Madison Counties) says (ch. 29) he died on the family farm in South Plymouth, NY. Smith elsewhere (ch,24) says Thomas was a bachelor "who removed to and died in the Southern States." Therefore if there is a marker for Thomas at Stewart's Corners Cemetery, it may or may not be a cenotaph.
