Myrtle W. Buffington, daughter of Titus Buffington and Hannah Branch Buffington, and the granddaughter of Rev. Sam'l S. Branch, married Samuel W. Howard about 1889. Her nickname as a child was "Nannie," and later, "Mertie".
Samuel and Myrtle Howard were parents of at least three children:
Hannah W. Howard
Lowell W. Howard
Dorothy W. Howard.
They lived in Denver Colorado where Samuel was a machinist and worked in a foundry in 1920. By 1930, Myrtle, now a widow, and her daughter Dorothy were living in Greeley where they ran a boarding house at 1322 Eighth Ave. In 1940 they were at 1612 Seventh. Samuel's burial place is not yet known.
