Born in Oden, Ark., he moved to Oklahoma City in 1942. He had been a truck driver for Douglass Air Craft, and later for Wilson & Co., where he was also a security guard. He retired after 31 years with Wilson & Co. He was a Baptist.
Survivors at his death included his wife, Gladys; three sons, Odell and Charles, both of Oklahoma City, and Donny, Grand Junction, Colorado; three brothers, Monroe, Shawnee; Elmer, Oden, Ark., and Herman, Duncan; eight sisters, Mrs. Virgie Vincent, Seminole; Mrs, Martha Petty, Mrs. Lola Gibson, Mrs. Jewell Shipman and Mrs. Theitus Walker, all of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Effie Singley, Jonesboro, Ark.; Mrs. Elsie Dunaway, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Geneva Oglesby, Hot Springs, Ark., and seven grandchildren.
