Baird of Tuscaloosa, AL, Rachel Caine (Rhett) Nilsen of Moss Point, MS, Jared Brett (Elayne) Caine of Mobile, AL, John Eric Overstreet of Mobile, AL, Kerriann Sparks (Dr. Chris) Martin of Opelika, AL, Meribeth Sparks of Auburn, AL, Justin Daniel (Hannah) Sparks of Cullman, AL, Sean Eric Aycock of Capo Beach, CA, Kristen Aycock of Capo Beach, CA, Donna Haggard (George) LaFont of Atlanta, GA, Michele Haggard (Clayton) McInnish of Atlanta, GA, eighteen great-grandchildren; and a large extended family including many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
Mrs. Caine married Walter Drury Caine, Sr. of Selma, Alabama on November 27, 1942. One son and six daughters were born from this union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Drury Caine, Sr.; her daughters, Kitty Lee Caine of Selma, AL, and Alice Caine (James) Sealey of Katy, TX; her parents, Victor Earl Clark, Sr. and Ruth Mae (Massey) Clark; her brothers, James Crawford Clark of Selma, AL, Victor Earl (Caroline) Clark, Jr., of Rochester, MN; her sister, Zula Mae Clark (McIver) Lide of Sardis, AL; her cousin, John Michael (Sherri) Crichton of Los Angeles, CA.
Active pallbearers were Charles Franklin Clark, II, John Eric Aycock, Sean Eric Aycock, Charles Edward Haggard, Clayton Scott McInnish and Justin Daniel Sparks. Honorary pallbearer was William Holmes Hill.
Mrs. Caine was born February 3, 1927, the fifth of six children born to Victor Earl Clark and Ruth Mae (Massey) Clark. She attended Albert G. Parrish High School. Mrs. Caine was a loving and devoted wife to her husband and mother to her seven children and served in various family businesses including W.A. Caine & Son Dairy; Belle of the South Dinner & Dance Club; W.D. Caine Ice Cream & Soda Shop; and Dairy Producers Milk Company before it's merger with Barber's Pure Milk Company. Also, Mrs. Caine was employed and retired from The Credit Union at Craig Field of Selma, Alabama.
Mrs. Caine's sister, Zula (Clark) Lide, was instrumental in the organization of the Alabama Scottish Heritage Society and hosted the Annual Gathering of the Scottish Clans for a number of years in Sardis, Alabama near Selma with the untiring assistance of her sister; Kitty Sue (Clark) Caine, her brothers; Victor Earl Clark, Jr., Charles Franklin Clark, Feulner DeWitt Clark and many devoted children, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, family members and friends. Great Scottish bag pipe music, dances, games, food, fun and fellowship were enjoyed by all.
Mrs. Caine was a devout Christian and life-long member of The First Baptist Church of Selma, Alabama. She was instrumental in seeing that her son was a First Baptist Church Royal Ambassador and that her daughters were Moonbeams. She encouraged her son to join The Boy Scouts of America where he earned both Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow at Boy Scout Camp Tuckabatchee. She assisted in activities and encouraged her daughters to join The Girl Scouts. She also made sure that all of her children enjoyed the great summer outdoor experiences waiting at Camp Paul Grist of Selma, Alabama.
She will be missed by all.
