Mrs. Whitney, 78, Dies Tuesday After Brief Illness
RIPON-Mrs. Bertha Anna Whitney, 78, of 508 Lyon St., died at her home Tuesday morning after a brief illness.
She was born May 20, 1877, in Rosendale, the daughter of Carl and Wilhelmina Kloehn Wollitz. She lived in the Town of Rosendale, Rosendale Center and for the past 14 years in Ripon. On Sept. 16,1900, she was married to Warren Clark Whitney.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Alvin Whiting, Ripon; two sons, Glenn, Rosendale Center, and Walter, Ripon and four grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, two brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Butzin Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Douglas O. Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
