Cyrus Keefer Dead
For Many Years the Decease Was a Respected Fremonter.
Cyrus Granville Keefer, a highly respected resident of Fremont, died Friday night at 11:45 at his home on South street. Death was due to heart trouble and to the infirmities of old age. For the past two years Mr. Keefer had been in ill health and for the last five weeks his condition was serious although able to be up and around. Thursday he became much worse and he was forced to take to is bed, gradually getting worse until death relieved his sufferings.
The deceased who followed the occupation of cabinet maker and carpenter during life was a native of Pennsylvania, having been born in Littlestown, Adams county, on June 5, 1850. There he received an education in the schools of the district and when 20 years of age came to Fremont, March 1, 1870. Here he met Miss Mary Reardon and five years later, on November 25, 1875, he was united in marriage to Miss Reardon, the widow who survives.
Mr. Keefer was a faithful member of the St. Ann's church during life. He leaves besides the widow, Mrs. Mary Keefer, two sons and two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Martin of Chicago, Mrs. Albert Atchley of Fremont, Albert and Clarence Kefer of Fremont, one brother, Dolf Keefer of Gettysburg, Md., two grandchildren and numerous friends and other relatives.
