A funeral for the Rev. Paul Carter Balderson, 79, of Culpeper County will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Baptist Church, with his sons, Paul Carter Balderson Jr. and Kyle Bruce Balderson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels, Culpeper. Born in Washington, Rev. Balderson was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former pastor of Craig's Baptist Church, Eleys Ford Baptist Church and Oakland Baptist Church. For the past 15 years, he ministered from his home. Survivors include his wife, Doris King Balderson; a daughter, Paula C. Nighswoonger of Madison County; two sons, Paul Carter Balderson Jr. of Culpeper and Kyle Bruce Balderson of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Virginia Trible of Richardsville, Gloria Morehead of Bowie, Md., and Helen Nephew of Ottertail, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
