Carrie M. Heater, 81, of Fisher Drive, Watsontown, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008 at her home.

Born October 19, 1926 in rural Fleetwood, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Gertrude M. (Cronrath) Seidel. On January 19, 1946 she married Ralph S. Heater and they have celebrated 62 years of marriage.

A 1944 graduate of Muhlenburg High School, she retired from Spring Window Fashions, Montgomery in 1991.

Carrie was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown since 1970. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and sewing.

Surviving besides her husband are three sons: Jay R. Heater and his companion Francine Bishop; Ralph C. Heater and his wife Debra, all of Watsontown; and Gary L. Heater and his wife Gina of Allenwood; a daughter and son-in-law: Linda J. and Wayne Dentler, Watsontown; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Richard L. Seidel and Barry L. Seidel, both of Fleetwood; and Jerry C. Seidel, Morris; and three sisters: Anna Mae Bisbach, Sun City Coast, Fla.; Florida F. Youse and Patricia J. Noll, both of Fleetwood. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Earl M. in 2007, Harold C. in 2006, and Marvin in 1976 and a sister, Betty J. Hetrick, this year.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown with the Rev. Jill Seagle, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Delaware Run Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Tuesday, and also at the church from noon to 1 PM Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to either St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown or the Warrior Run Area Fire Company, PO Box 8, Watsontown, PA 17777.
