In the 1850 census Laurens Co., Samuel is listed as a mechanic. Samuel and Mary Ann McCarter were married in Laurens SC in 1820. The picture on this memorial is not correct.

According to Samuels Great grandson Charlton Holmes Taylor, Samuel and his wife Mary Ann McCarter , their son Whitner Richard Taylor and his wife Mary Ann Bruner are all buried with the Civil War Era Taylors, under the Magnolia Tree on the right rear ( back to Church).

The Grave orders are ( from right back of church) Is Mary Ann Bruner Taylor, Whitner Richard Taylor, Mary Ann McCarter and Samuel are on the left. In front of them are Elizabeth Taylor Cook and Ola Loree Taylor, Whitner Richard Taylors grand daughters. The four graves are marked with fist-sized field stones because they died during Reconstruction Thanks to Ron Taylor #47598912
