He will always be remembered as a fiercely devoted father, a strong bear of a man, well spoken, and as a kind and ever-positive friend, who climbed more mountains and surpassed more superlatives than most men ever dare.
He's survived by 8 children, Darrell Johnston, Linda Denton, William Johnston, Sharon Hudson, Stanley Johnston, Elizabeth Vasquez, Kimberley Johnston, and James Johnston Jr., as well as a brother, Gordon Johnston. He has 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
In Heaven, he will be joining his parents, Gordon Sr. and Mary Johnston; brother, Grady Johnston; sister, Kay Johnston; and granddaughter, Jennifer Byerly.
Services are to be held at Laurel Oaks at 2pm on Fri., Feb. 4th, 2011.
