Elaine L. (Kasper) Hinton died April 1, 2001, in Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral services were held April 7 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Millard. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Elaine Lena (Kasper) Hinton was born April 13, 1929 in Blair to Robert Henry and Esther Bernice Jensen Sorensen Rasmussen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family lived on a farm and dairy in rural Blair.

On June 9, 1948, she married Elmer Raymond Kasper. The couple lived in Omaha, where Mr. Kasper worked for Northern Natural Gas. The couple had three children. He preceded her in death in 1974.

In 1978, she married Robert Hinton, and the couple lived in Phoenix.

Mrs. Hinton is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jolene Kasper of Omaha, Scot and Roxann Kasper of Glendale, Ariz., a son-in-law, Jim Patterson of San Antonio, Texas, five grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, James and Ann Rasmussen of Poteet, Texas, sister-in-law Mary (Sal) Rasmussen of Blair, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Elmer Kasper and Robert Hinton, a daughter, Sandra Patterson, and a brother, Harold Rasmussen.

Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation of Nebraska.

Kahler-Dolce Mortuary in Papillion was in charge of arrangements.
