Funeral services for O.V. Harding, lifelong resident of Kirklin, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the M.R. Hunt Funeral Home in Kirklin. Burial will take place in the Oak Hill cemetery, north of Kirklin.
Mr. Harding passed away Sunday morning at 7 o'clock at the Sims Nursing Home in Frankfort after an illness of three weeks with complications. The deceased, a son of Samuel and Delela Thompson Harding, was born in Kirklin May 13, 1862. He grew to manhood in the community he loved so well and for 62 years worked at his trade of a blacksmith.
On August 25, 1886, he was united in marriage to Clara Pavey, who preceded him in death, January 5, 1905. Mr. Harding was the father of the late Dr. Losey Harding, who passed away April 28, 1933.
He is survived by two sons, Harold K. Harding of Indianapolis and Cecil Harding of Kirklin. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Kate Williams, of Indianapolis. Six grandchildren also survive.
He was a member of the Kirklin Presbyterian church and the Kirklin Masonic Lodge. Mr. Harding was a man having many friends and his death, while not entirely unexpected, removes from the community a citizen widely known and highly respected. Rev. William McGill will officiate the service.
