Mrs. Jennie Van Dyke Obituary -Danville
Mrs. Jennie Van Dyke 81,grandmother of Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, stage, film and TV personalities, died at 1:15 p.m. yesterday (March 20, 1968) in the Danville Care Nursing Home where she had been a patient since December 2, 1966. She had been ill since last December.
Mrs. Van Dyke formerly lived at 119 Woodbury. She had lived in Danville since 1921.
Born October 19, 1886 in Greenup, Illinois she was the daughter of Scott and Alice Sears Ware. She was married in 1901 in Greenup to Dorsey C. Van Dyke who preceded her in death January 27, 1936. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Mrs. Van Dyke was a member of the Second Church of Christ.
Surviving are two sons, Earl of Marion, Indiana and Loren (Cookie) Van Dyke of Phoenix, Arizona.; the two grandsons, both of Encino , California and seven great-grandchildren. Neither grandson will be able to be here for the services.
Mrs. Van Dyke had an avid interest in her children and grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Edmond-Jones -Sullivan Funeral Home. Freddie Griffith will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Greenup Cemetery at Greenup, Illinois. Friends will be received at the funeral home 6-9 tonight.
