Jolyon "John" Kassebaum, 65, Minot, ND, died Monday, November 3, 2003, in his home.
He was born on April 20, 1938, in Richfield Village, MN, to Franklyn and Lauris (Le Fevre) Kassebaum. He attended school in Minnesota for a time, and then moved with his family to California where he completed his education. He entered the United States Air Force on July 17, 1956, and served in the Philippines, Korea, Hawaii, and various points in the United States, including Minot Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged after 26 years in the Air Force on July 31, 1982. He was once married to Bonnie Chandler, and they raised six children together. He continued to live in Minot until the time of his death.
He was a member and very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Minot, and served as Minot 2nd Ward usher, family historical director, and audio/visual coordinator. He was also the Minot 2nd Ward financial clerk for many years. He was extremely interested in genealogy and enjoyed attending veteran's functions in the area.
His parents, and one brother, James Kassebaum, preceded him in death.
Funeral Service: Friday, November 7, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Minot.
There will be no visitation, but friends may sign the register one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
