From the Latrobe Bulletin, 1912:
Derry, July 26. - An illness of several months, from cancer of the stomach, terminated fatally for David Henry Hollis, a resident of Hillside, last evening.
For some years a resident of Youngstown, Mr. Hollis moved to Latrobe, and about a year or so ago, to near Hillside, his home being located to the south of the tracks of the P.R.R. about a half mile from the station.
His ailment was cancer of the liver, he having been a sufferer for some months past.
He is survived by a wife, and a daughter, who is employed in Pittsburgh. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Miss Clair, at Hillside. He was aged 50 years, 5 months and 23 days.
The body will be lifted from the home at 8 a.m. tomorrow, and brought to Derry, where high mass will be said in St. Joseph's church at 9:30. Interment will follow in St. Martin's cemetery at New Derry.
