"John Dalton, a former popular resident of Iosco and Janesville, died last Saturday at his home in Minneapolis. He has been ill for a year, suffering from kidney trouble and high blood pressure and the end was not unexpected.
The funeral was held Monday morning from St. Stephen's Catholic church in Minneapolis, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Cleary officiating. Following the services the remains were brought to St. Jarlath's cemetery in Iosco for burial. Many from Waseca, Janesville and Iosco were present to pay their last tribute of respect to an old friend and neighbor.
The pall bearers were Michael Healy, Fred Besser, James Lee, M.J. Broderick, Joseph and Henry Miller.
Deceased was born in Illinois in 1865 and came with his parents at the age of four years to Iosco, where he grew to manhood. On Oct. 14, 1900, he was united in marriage at St. Jarlath's church to Miss Mary Kane. They lived on a farm in Iosco following their marriage and then moved to Janesville, where they lived until 10 years ago, when they moved to Minneapolis.
Wherever he resided, he proved himself an honorable enterprising, upright citizen who enjoyed the esteem of all who knew him.
Besides his widow, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Edward Von Rohr of Webster, S.D. They have the sympathy of many friends in this community.
Among those who accompanied the remains were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Slattery, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Besser, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller, Mrs. Catherine Smith and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Kane, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Conlin of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Bartley Kane, and Mrs. Paul Kurkowski of St. Paul; Edward Kane and Mrs. David O'Keefe of Faribault; Mrs. Andrew Miller and son of St. Peter; Mrs. J.
