Mr. Quillin was born June 24, 1913 in Hallsville to the late John Ed and Tressie (Schaffer) Quillin, and died Friday, Aug. 20 in a Lufkin retirement center. He owned and operated Quillin's Furniture Store for 34 years and was a past president of the Kiwanis Club. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
