Catarino M. Carrasco, 81, 410 Laredo, died Sunday in a local hospital. He was a farm laborer.

Carrasco was born Nov. 5, 1889, at Shafter, Tex., where he lived unt 1901 when he moved to the Carlsbad area with his family. In 1910, he married Miss Beatrice Pena in Carlsbad. He had worked on many of the farms in the Carlsbad-Loving area until he retired in 1951 and moved to 410 Laredo St. where he made his home.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beatrice Carrasco of Carlsbad; a son, Daniel Carrasco of Artesia; eight daughters, Geneva Mendoza of Manteca, Calif., Luz Lovato of San Jose, Calif., Margarita Rincon of Albuquerque, Concepcion Carrasco of Los Angelses, Calif., Henrietta Kent of Los Angeles, Calif., Gomesinda Onsurez of Loving and Isabel Trevino and Dalia Merjil, both of Carlsbad; two sisters, Margarita Mendoza of Los Angeles, Calif., and Consuela Padilla of Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico; 58 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in San Jose Cemetery with arrangements made by West Funeral Home.
