Dr. Barbara Jean Pierozak, 55, of Linden died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Valley Road, Clark-Linden, at 10 a.m. Born in Munich, Germany, Dr. Pierozak lived in Linden for over 50 years. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate studies, graduating in 1975. In 1981, she graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, earning her veterinary doctorate degree. Dr. Pierozak was a self-employed small animal relief veterinarian in Linden for 27 years. She was forced to retire in 2007, due to Crohn's Disease. She was a member of the national, state and local veterinary associations; the American Animal Hospital Association in Colorado and the New Jersey Society of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Pierozak worked with the Seeing Eye in Morristown for the past four years. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Robert F. Pierozak M.D. (1978), and her brother, Dr. Robert F. Pierozak Jr., M.D. (2003). Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Mary (LaHatte) Pierozak; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Germano and her husband, Deacon Donald Germano, and Dr. Claire Cullen and her husband, Timothy Rock Cullen; three nephews, David Germano, Peter Germano and his wife, Christie, and Michael Germano and his wife, Amber; two nieces, Mary Germano, who is a senior in college, and Abby Cullen, who teaches history at Gordon Tech Catholic High School in Chicago; an aunt, Mrs. June Gilroy; two uncles, James LaHatte of New Zealand and Charles LaHatte, and her dear friend, Mrs. Effie Castillo.
