Edward Dalton Whitney

Our Dad, 84, completed life's journey November 11, 2002 with his family at his side.

He was born September 22, 1918 in Parowan, Utah to William Francis and Dena Dalton Whitney. He married Fern Nunn September 21, 1940 in Salt Lake City, UT; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

He served his country in the Air Force during World War II and was a retired employee of American Oil Company.

Dad was an honorable, decent man who raised and supported his family and taught them truth, responsibility and the importance of being on time! We are proud of our goodly parents and are comforted in the knowledge that they are free from physical burden and together again sharing a new journey.

Edward and Fern were parents to seven children, Edward (Halina) Whitney Jr., Bill (Jeannie) Whitney, Pat (Phil) Nelson, Dena (David) Hendrickson, Susan (Doug) Weidauer, Jan (George) Burnell and Trudy (Craig) Dalton; 32 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; brothers Frank, Claire, Marion; sister Ardith (Richardson); granddaughter Shelly Whitney; grandson Tommy Whitney; and son-in-law Rob Hansen.

Heartfelt thanks to granddaughters Brandi and Jen Weidauer and Care Source Hospice Center for the gentle kindness and loving care service extended to our dad.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
