Weaver Bloomfield McClurg, age 95, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
She was born December 5, 1915, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Richard and Sarah Ellen Butler Bloomfield.
Weaver was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John Marion McClurg, one granddaughter, Connie Sue McClurg, three brothers, George Bloomfield, Egar Bloomfield, and Tommy Bloomfield,and one sister, Flossie Bloomfield.
Weaver is survived by three sons, Ronald McClurg, William McClurg, Jr., and David McClurg, all of Vanceburg, Kentucky, two daughters, Helen Livesay of Garrison, Kentucky, and Phoebe Scaff and husband Mike of South Shore, Kentucky, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, four sisters, Lily Cooley and husband Estil of Garrison, Kentucky, Bertha Ruark Reynolds of Florida, Lona Burton of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Dorothy Pierce of Garrison, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will truly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, Kentucky, with Brother Ronald Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Friends may call after 12 noon Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, Kentucky.
John David Mallory, Michael Ray McClurg, Ray McClurg, Scotty Scaff, Aaron Scaff, Jayson Scaff, and Jamie McClurg will serve as pallbearers.
