He died January 23, 2004, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Kansas City. He was married to the former Nancy Snelling. He worked as a mechanic at Stayton Motors for over 20 years then went to Miller Auto where he worked for 19 years and retired at the age of 62. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors. Preceding him in death were his parents and wife Nancy. Survivors include two sons, Robert Duane Nichols, Daniel Glen Nichols, both of Clinton; one daughter, Vickie Diane Jack and husband T. J., Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother, George Robert Nichols and wife Jean, Windsor, and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 26 at the Consalus-Bradley Chapel. Burial was in Clinton Memory Gardens Cemetery.
