BEACH, N.D. — Dorothy Ingalls, 92, of Beach, formerly of Tulsa, Okla., died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Saint Luke's Home in Dickinson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Golden Valley Manor Chapel of the Angels. Interment to follow at a later date at Memorial Cemetery in Tulsa. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach is in charge of local arrangements. Moore's Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel is in charge of Tulsa arrangements.

Dorothy Ingalls, 92, of Beach, formerly of Tulsa, Okla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 16 at St. Luke's Home in Dickinson.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Golden Valley Manor Chapel of the Angels with Rev. J.T. Burk officiating. Interment to follow at a later date in Tulsa at Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Norman Dake officiating. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach is entrusted with local arrangements and Moore's Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel is entrusted with arrangements in Tulsa.

Dorothy "Dottie" Genevieve Thompson was born May 7, 1918, the last of nine children born to Ida Emilie (Tenneson) Thompson and Henry R. Thompson at the family farm two miles southwest of Beach. She attended Beach public schools. In the early 1940's Dorothy and her eldest sister, Marie, moved to Oklahoma to overcome Dorothy's health problems caused by the cold winters. She became a dental assistant and worked in that capacity for many years.

Dorothy married Ralph W. Ingalls of Tulsa, Oklahoma in June 1960 and they resided in Tulsa where Ralph worked for Oklahoma Power as an engineer. A son, Barry Ralph W. Ingalls, was born, July 4, 1962. Dorothy continued to live and work in Tulsa where she remained during most of her retirement years. She had a zest for life and saw brightness even after several tragedies.

In July 2007 she moved back to the Beach area to be near her family. Dorothy became a resident of the Golden Valley Manor in Oct. 18, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph on June 29, 1969; her son Barry on Nov. 22, 1988, her sisters Marie, Helga and Theresa, and brothers Richard, Goodwin, Theodore, Benjamin and Irvin.

Dorothy leaves several nieces and nephews and their families as well as many friends who will miss her happy, caring personality.
