From the Van Zandt News, Feb. 20, 2005:

Services for Clyde F. Stevenson, 88, Canton, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Billy Smith, Rev. Terry Adair, and Rev. Bill Lane officiating. Burial was in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, Mesquite. Mr. Stevenson died Feb. 10, 2005, in Kaufman.

He was born January 4, 1917, in Emory. He was a member of Jackson Missionary Baptist Church for 15 years. He served in the US Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Cicero and Eva Adams Stevenson; two brothers and two grandsons.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Juanita Stevenson, Canton; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Barker, Grand Saline, and Betty and Gary Shaw, Canton; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Kenneth Starkwater, Houston, and Ruby Stevenson, Dallas; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Pallbearers included Craig Cox, James McEnturff, Robert McEnturff, Joseph McEnturff, Brandon McEnturff, Cameron Cox and Justin Smith.
