Gustav Bauermeister, 90, 1001 N. Garden St., New Ulm, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at New Ulm Medical Center.

Private graveside services will be held at the City Cemetery.

Firle Funeral Home, New Ulm, is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Denneth Dvergsten of Grand Rapids; and sister, Olivia Monjeau of Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille in 1998; three brothers; and four sisters.

He was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Nicollet County, to Gustav and Alvina (Rubie) Bauermeister. He attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran grade school and the former Martin Luther Academy in New Ulm. He married Lucille Gulden in New Ulm. He worked for the former Cudahy Packing Company for several years. The family moved to the Twin Cities where he worked as a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Authority for 21 years. They retired to northern Minnesota in 1971, returning to New Ulm in 1979. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm.
