"Pike County Journal" - Friday, October 6, 1911:

Mr. John G. Barrow, a prominent farmer, died at his home near Orchard Hill last Saturday evening after a year's illness of a complication of diseases.
He is survived by his wife and five children. His remains were interred in the Green cemetery in the Second District at two o'clock Monday afternoon.
Mr. Barrow was seventy one years old and was a well known citizen. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their numerous friends in the bereavement.
