Jose Mendez Masias,70 of 1807 Plover Road, Plover WS,died March 25, 1992, at home. He had been in ill health for six months.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saterday at the Jensen-Jinsky Funeral Home. The Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
Mr. Masias was born March 19, 1922, in Gonzales, Texas, to the late Nganito (Margarito) and Nieves Mendez Masias.
He has lived in the Stevens Point/Plover area for the past 17 years and was a construction worker.
He married Isabel Juarez on July 21, 1942 in Gonzales, Texas, she survives at the present address.
Mr. Masias served in the U.S. Army as a rifleman in the combat infantry brigade. He was stationed in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
He received the Good Conduct Medal, The Overseas Ribbon, the Infantry Medal and the Purple Heart.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma.
