Birth: 1823
District Of Columbia, USA
Death: Dec. 12, 1864
District Of Columbia, USA

He and William H. ROBEY were twins. They worked at the Navy Yard as ship carpenters.

Thomas served in the Civil War (USA). A cemetery stone provided by the government has that he served in Co. D, 7th Bat. DC. Mil Inf. There are no dates on this stone. This military stone was placed on the grave in 1896. "Headstones Provided for Deceased Union Civil War Veterans, 1879-1903" as found online at ancestry.com gives his death date as 20 December 1864, which does not agree with Congressional Cemetery records or with the date that is on the ROBEY family stone. His death date that appears on the appears on his family's oblisk-shaped stone is 12 December 1864. Cemetery records indicate that he was placed in the pulic vault on 18 December 1864. He was removed from the vault by Taylor and Boteler to Range 35, site 244 on 33 March 1865. (page 350 of the records of Congressional Cemetery, Washington, DC.)
