- CHARLOTTE - Mr. James Steven Crump Sr., 61, of 4416 Hovis Road died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at home.
- The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Revs. L.J. Mills and Sammy Case officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery West.
- Mr. Crump was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church, a veteran of the Navy, and a member of the American Legion Post 353 in Paw Creek. He was a material handler for the Constar International Corp.
- Surviving are his wife, Sandra Messer Crump; three sons, Steven Phillips of Granite Falls, N.C., and James S. Crump Jr. and Garrett F. Ferrell, both of Charlotte; four daughters, Marjorie L. Ferrell of Pageland, Denise C. Keene of High Point, N.C., Camille S. Sain of Concord, and Kristina Crump of Charlotte; his brother, Robert T. Crump of Sharon; his sister, Margie Woods of Charlotte; and five grandchildren.
