David Auld Dies Suddenly At Home
David Auld, manager and secretary of the First Federal Savings and Loan association of Eugene, and for many years a prominent civic and business leader of the city, died Thursday morning at his residence, 1057 Patterson street. Death followed an illness of about an hour.
Mr. Auld came to Eugene in 1912 and at once time operated the Mohawk Lumber company in partnership with his brother, the late H.C. Auld, and for many years was vice-president of the United States National bank here.
Mr. Auld was a charter member of the Eugene County club, charter member of the Eugene Rotary club and for years was active in Boy Scout work.
Native of Kansas
Born at Atchison, Kans., he was the son of David and Sarah Woodward Auld. He was graduated from the Michigan Miliary academy at Orchard Lake, Mich. He joined his father as vice-president of the First National Bank at Atchison, the first national bank in the state of Kansas,
He and his brother bought the Mohawk lumber company at what used to be known as the Donna community in 1912.
After leaving the United Sates National bank when the concern was sold to become the Eugene branch of the United States National bank of Portland, Mr. Auld later, with a group fo local business and professional men, organized the First Federal Savings and Loan association of Eugene.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary E. Auld; one daughter, Mrs. Edward T. Stelle, and one grandchild Elizabeth Louise Stelle, all of Eugene.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Veatch-Hollingsworth mortuary.

AULD - Funeral services for David Auld will be held at the Veatch-Hollingsworth chapel on Saturday, May 19th, at 2 p.m. Rev. Wesley G. Nicholson will officiate and interment will be in the Rest Haven memorial park.
