John Wesley Mullins lived in Dickenson County most of his life. Because he fought in the Revolutionary War at King's Mountain, Tennessee, he became known as "Revolution John". Since he was the only person from Dickenson County to fight in that war a plaque was erected in his honor at the Dickenson County courthouse.
He is said to be buried in a hollow log and his grave is located in
Dickenson County where it is still visited by his descendants.
It is believed he may have had another wife, Mollie Brandon, but
that hasn't been proven yet.
