He has a marker with his first wife but was not buried with her. His body was donated to science, burial at a later date, we believe cremains are in the medical plot in front of the mausoleum.

Ernest Sumner

Services for Ernest "Ernie" Sumner, 75, of Lubbock will be at 10 o'clock Monday in Broadview Baptist Church with Rev. Truman Johnson.

Burial will be at a later date, his body was donated to the Texas Tech Health Science Center.

Sumner died December 23, 1998 at his residence. He was born June 13, 1923 in Camden, Missouri.

He married Bernice Christine Exum January 6, 1942 in Kansas City. She died May 29, 1976.

He worked on the railroad and for North American Aviation in Kansas City. He was a carpenter for 35 year in the Lubbock area until retiring.

Survivors include a son, Ron of Wills Point, a daughter Judy Lister of Lubbock. A brother Lawrence of Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Two sisters Ethel Sumner of Branson, MO and Stella Striegel of Springfield, MO and several grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at his daughter's residence at noon Monday.
