Sgt. Jason G. Amores, 29, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., died Jan. 20 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Amores is survived by his wife Jennifer, who also grew up in Lehigh, two children, Korbin and Violet. He also is survived by his mother and step-father, Beverly and Curt Middleton; father Jay Amores, step-mother Gigi Amores; sisters Shoshona and Emerald Amores; sisters Rebecca and Samantha Middleton; brothers Jeremiah Amores and Joshua Amores. He is also survived by his grandparents, Susie and Wendell Rice and an aunt and uncle who are his godparents, Angela and Robert Middleton.
