Her parents were John and Abigail Rettew Patterson. She was an only child.
According to the Pennsylvanian Vital Records Vol II pg 489, John Graves, Esquire performed the marriage of Caleb Gliston to Dolly Patterson in West Chester, PA on 28 February 1805. The book Genealogy of the Rettew Family (1658-1986) The French Hugenot (Northern France) and his Descendants, confirms Dorothy Patterson was born 1787 married 28 Feb 1805 to Caleb Glisson b 20 Dec 1777 d 25 Jun 1824. Abstracts of Wills Chester Co. PA Vol IV 1801-1825, RETTEW, WILLIAM. West Goshen. May 5, 1819. May 11, 1820. To Caleb Glisson the plantation I own in W. Goshen, being the land devised to me by my father, William Rettew. To sister Hannah, widow of Edward Hicks, $200. To my bro. John Rettew $200. To Susanna Patterson $1000. To Dorothy, wife of Caleb Glisson, my Desk, and to their son Emmor my silver watch. To my sister Edith Ray $200. To William, son of Joseph James, $100. To Emmor, Hiram, Jesse, Thomas, Elizabeth, Susanna, Mary Ann, Lydia, William and Sally Ann, children of said Caleb Glisson, all remainder of estate. Executors: Friends Nathan Sharpless and John Marshall. Wits: George Haines, Wm. D. Haines, Jas. Dilworth.
It is not known when Dolly died but according to Genealogy of the Rettew Family (1658-1986) The French Hugenot (Northern France) and his Descendants, Dolly died sometime after 1869.
