Katherine Elizabeth Muhs, 96, of Olney, went to be with her Lord on her birthday, January 19, 2011, at 3:10 p.m. with her loving family at her bedside in the home of her daughter.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.
Mrs. Muhs was born January 19, 1915, in Richland County, the daughter of Sylvester "Vess" and Dora (Zuber) Hahn. She married Leo Anthony Muhs on February 6, 1934. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1980.
She had worked as a nurse's aide at Golden Years Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown.
Mrs. Muhs is survived by four sons, Robert Muhs and wife, Audra, of Baytown, Texas, Charles "Chuck" Muhs and wife, Shirley, of Newcomerstown, Ohio, James "Jim" Muhs and wife, Thelma, of Claremont, and Urban Muhs and wife, Marilyn, of Olney; one daughter, Carolyn Elie and husband, Pat, of Olney; 12 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Nancy Hahn, of Olney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester "Vess" and Dora Hahn; husband, Leo Anthony Muhs; brother, Robert Hahn; and sisters, Marie Ochs and Florence Anderson.
