George Beck was born George Back (Bach. On December 25, 1892 he married his sweetheart, Bertha Crandall. George and his brother Frank married sisters. Frank married Lydia Crandall. For a short time George and Bertha with Frank and Lyia operated a consession business in the early 1890's following the region's county fairs. George and Bertha settled down in Millersburg where they owned and operated "The Quality Store" a general merchandise business. The picture to the right shows George with his sisters L-R Mary, Alma and brother Frank. This picture was taken at Frank's in Las Animas, Colorado at a family reunion, the last time the family was all together.
