HOLYOKE - Anna M. (Grenier) Guiheen, age 88, of Holyoke, died on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Joseph and Armenie (Couture) Grenier and had lived here most of her life. Anna was employed at the Springfield Ordnance District during World War II, then was a longtime bookkeeper for the City of Holyoke Department of Public Works. Later, she was employed at the Odyssey Book Shop in South Hadley. Ann was a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish Women's Club, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society , and co-authored a book with her sister Marie titled "Sheet Music Reference and Price Guide". She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Thomas F. Guiheen, on August 30, 2001. Anna is survived by three daughters: Catherine M. Guiheen of Holyoke, Elizabeth A. Guiheen and her husband Philip Airoldi of Brewster, and Margaret M. Vaughn of Wakefield, a brother, Robert Grenier and his wife Helene of Holyoke, and many nieces and nephews. Anna was pre-deceased by many brothers and sisters. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 8:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 9:00. Burial will be in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loomis House Independent Living, in care of Carol Constant, 246 North Main Street, South Hadley MA 01075.
