John Edward Ylinen passed to his reward on Thursday, December 2, at the age of 62 years and three months, death resulting from rheumatism and complications. He was buried from the Finnish Lutheran church on Quince Street, at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, the pastor of New York Mills officiating.
Deceased came from Finland in 1891 and settled in Ashtabula, Ohio, becoming a citizen of the United States some 30 years ago.
He came to Brainerd in 1904 and has lived on a farm at Gull Lake for the past 22 years. His health failed and early this fall the family moved to Brainerd where he could have the immediate attention of his physician.
There remain to mourn his passing besides his wife, seven sons and four daughters, Frank of Virgina, Arvo of St. Paul, Albert of Litchfield, Canada; William of Brainerd, Emil of Gull Lake, Mrs. H. Peterson of Gull River, Eva, Annie, Ellen and Laurie who live at home. John, another son, is employed by the railroad with headquarters at Duluth. There are 17 grandchildren and also one brother in Finland. The sympathy of the entire community is extended the family in their bereavement.
