Birth: Dec. 23, 1858
Waldeck-Frankenberger Landkreis
Hessen, Germany
Death: May 5, 1932
Bremen
Marshall County
Kansas, USA

Born in Waldeck-Frankenburg, Hessen, Germany on December 28, 1858, Reverend Christian H. Germeroth was the second son of Johann Conrad Germeroth and his wife Catherine Winkel. Christian can be found in the 1880 USA census as a student in St. Louis, Missouri.

Pastor Germeroth ministered to the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kurtzville for seven years, from September 1881 to 1888. He was married to Johanna "Wilhelmine" C. Kretzmann on July 21, 1887 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wilberforce Township, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. She was born on April 8, 1862 in Hannover, Germany. Her brother, Robert Kretzmann was also a Lutheran minister.

Following his time at Trinity, Pastor Germeroth took a call to 2nd St. John's in Wartburg where he ministered from 1888 to 1891. He and Wilhelmine lived in Ellice township, and during this time, they had their first two children; Christina in 1888 and Theodora in 1890.

Pastor Germeroth was then sent to the Muskoka and Perry Sound area. Near the Village of Magnetawan, the government had allotted a tract of land along the Magnetawan River for church use. In 1879, Reverend Ernst had conducted a survey of this territory. This land was given to Pastor Ernst, who gave it to the new congregation formed at Chapman.
Reverend Germeroth ministered to this congregation as well as the established parish including Deer Lake, Commanda, Milz, Ferrie, Magnetawan and Alsace. During his pastorate, the new church at Magnetawan was dedicated and a preaching station opened in Sprucedale. However, services at Milz and Ferrie were eventually discontinued as the populace moved westward. Reverend Germeroth cared for this parish from 1891 to 1900.

While living and working in the Perry Sound area, Christian and Wilhelmine were blessed with three more children: Wilhelmine (1893), Conrad (1895), and Amelia (1897).

Reverend Germeroth and his family then moved to Linn, Kansas, USA, where Christian and Robert, their two youngest, were born in 1900 and 1904.
