Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Betty Lee Averett Bingham, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Intermountain Medical Center. She resided at 1650 West 4300 South in Taylorsville, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born March 12, 1926 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Wilburn B. and Ada Jorgensen Averett.
She married Keith J. Bingham on November 11, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 18, 1965.
She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. She retired from Beehive Clothing Mills after twenty-four years of service. She loved collecting porcelain dolls and stuffed animals. She was loved by all who knew her because of her kindness, gentleness, and loving ways and we will miss her quiet presence. She was a member of the Democratic Party.
She is survived by her three children, Bryce (Leslee) Bingham, Peggy (Richard) Shaw, and Pat Sargent; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the Taylorsville Eighth Ward Chapel, 1495 West Tamarack Road (4567 South), at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park.
