Services for Charley "Gene" Butler, 80, of Durant will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Skip Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Bokchito Cemetery. Family hour will be Monday, January 10, 2011, from 6-7 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.

Charley Eugene Butler was born Sunday, October 12, 1930, in Bennington, Oklahoma, to Marion Frank and Alma Marie (Rogers) Butler.

He passed away Saturday January 8, 2011, in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 27 days.

He married Bonnie Alice Newell on April 7, 1951, in Bennington, Oklahoma. Mr. Butler was a member of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a master storyteller. Gene loved hunting in West Texas with James Hollingsworth, Joe Harp and Gene Culbreath.

Survivors include wife, Bonnie Butler, of the home; daughters, Bonnie Webb and husband, Billy, Durant; Carla McDaniel and husband, Calvin, Denison, Texas; sons, Ricky Butler and wife, Rhonda, Durant; Chris Butler, and wife, Dianna, Sherman, Texas. Grandchildren Matt Webb and wife, Kelly, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Ryan Webb and wife, Yvette, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Nathan Williams, Coleman, Oklahoma; Robert Williams and wife, Chelsea, Lawton, Oklahoma; Billy Butler and wife, Jenna, of Yuma, Arizona; Melissa Poore, Boswell, Oklahoma; April McClure and husband, Phillip, Durant; Magan Marie Downs and husband, Kyle, Durant; Gordon Dale White, Jr., Frederick, Oklahoma; Caleb and Alana Butler, Sherman, Texas.
