Mrs. Jewel D. Trapp, 88, of Temple, Texas, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, in a Temple nursing center.
She was born July 17, 1915, in Bell County, Texas, to William Jesse and Eva Pearl Cowan Whiteley.
She married William Clyde Trapp on July 22, 1933, in Bell County, Texas. She had been a resident of Temple since 1968. She was a member of the Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Temple. She and her husband lived in Clovis prior to moving to Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Fred and Ira Whiteley; and five sisters, Opal Massengale, Ruby Humphrey, Marie Mangerich, Dorothy Clowers and Pearline Whiteley.
She is survived by a daughter, Ramona Gail Carter of Temple; two brothers, Joe A. Whiteley of Las Cruces and Arthur V. Whiteley of Austin, Texas; a sister, Irene Waskow of McAllen, Texas; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
The Rev. Rodney Kruse will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunrise Oaks Health Care, LLP, 612 Industrial Boulevard, Temple, TX 76501.
