Mrs. Velma Leta Woodward, 89, of 506 Governors Road, Huntsville died November 6, 1999 at her home. She was born July 25, 1910 at Huntsville, the daughter of Wesley Carter and Cora Ella Mouser Lawson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Theodore James Woodward who preceded her in death on November 5, 1994.
Survivors include: one step-daughter, Mrs. Jean Holloway of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Woodward of Huntsville and Mrs. Vida Rogers of Wichita, Kansas; one step-grandson, Kelly Holloway of Huntsville; two step-granddaughters, Mrs. Delissa Pharris of Huntsville and Mrs. Marcella Parson of Washburn, Missouri; two nephews Carey Lawson of Haskell, Oklahoma and Howard Woodward of Huntsville; two nieces, Mrs. Kay Robinson of Nashville, Tennessee and Mrs. Janice Sue Moore of Huntsville; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Eldon Bagwell officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers were Howard Woodward, Sonny Moore, Dalton Holloway, Kelly Holloway, Frankie Parson and Shane Pharris.
