Verna Lauretta Colburn, daughter of Clayton Eugene Colburn & Margaret Jane McCaw, was born on Sunday, 08-Sep-1918 in Elbow, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Verna was married to the love of her life, Erwin Karl Koehler until his sudden passing on 11-Nov-1999 while they were visiting family in Germany.
Verna was surrounded by her family when she died on Tuesday, 27-Jul-2004 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Verna is lovingly remembered by family and friends for her wonderful smile, sense of humor and generousity.

Verna Loretta Koehler born September 8, 1918, passed away July 27, 2004. Predeceased by her loving husband, Erwin Karl Koehler in 1999, her two sisters Edith, Vera and brother Earl. She is survived by her son Garry Wayne Colburn, sisters Ruth, Edna and Hazel; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention is made of Patricia Borgerson, her sister Joan and their late brother Ron Sharp, Corrine Masters, Patricia Rawley and Clayton Colburn. She was much loved by her family and was known as the "Auntie" to all family members. She and her husband Erwin loved to camp and travel. Verna was heart-broken when her husband died and longed to be with him again. She believed she would be when she died.
A memorial service will be held at First Memorial Funeral chapel, 1155 Fort Street on Friday, July 30 at 2:00 P.M. Flowers are gratefully declined in favor of donations to the Victoria Breast Cancer Foundation. A special thank you to all the nurses and doctors at Victoria General Hospital that assisted in such a caring way.
