ROME -- George Elmer Rexroat, 64, of 15531 N. Vonachen Drive died at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 1995, at his residence.
Born Feb. 4, 1931, in Richland County to Britton and Velma L. Weidner Rexroat, he married Betty Hunley on Feb. 18, 1951, in Passport. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, George David of Springfield and Keith Allen of Chillicothe; two daughters, Cindy Whipple of East Moline and Linda Ryan of Chillicothe; one brother, Willard of Overland Park. Kan.; three grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was a cook at Caterpillar Inc. He then was parts manager for 32 years, working for Koch Motors, Chillicothe Cartage Co., Bush-Holloway, Kenyon Trucking Equipment and Foley-Gill, retiring in August 1994. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at his church. The Rev. Ralph Wingate will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Weber Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in LaSalle Cemetery in Chillicothe.
Memorials may be made to his church or to Saint Francis Medical Center Hospice Program in Peoria or to Rescue 33 in Chillicothe.
